December 31, 2024 is the Deadline
The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) was enacted to curb money laundering. As of January 1, 2024, the CTA requires many companies doing business in the United States to report information about the individuals who ultimately own or control them, the “Beneficial Owners.” Any legal entity registered prior to January 1, 2024, has until December 31, 2024, to register. Any legal entity registered this year in 2024 needs to register the Beneficial Owners within 90 days after receiving actual or public notice that the registration is effective.
